How it works

How to convert 3MF to STL

  1. 1

    Add your 3MF files

Drop one file or a whole batch. Exports from Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer, PrusaSlicer, Cura and most CAD apps are supported.

  2. 2

    Choose the output

Keep every object together in one STL, or split each object into its own file to print separately.

  3. 3

    Download and slice

You get binary STL files at their original size in millimeters, ready for any slicer.

Features

Why use this 3MF to STL converter

Built for slicer projects that need to open somewhere else.

Private, in your browser

Conversion runs on your computer, so client parts and unreleased designs stay on your device.

Plate layout kept

Objects stay where they sat on the slicer plate, so a merged STL keeps their arrangement.

Size shown before you download

Every object appears on a build plate with its size in millimeters or inches and its triangle count.

Large projects welcome

Files up to 300 MB each are accepted, including projects with many objects.

Format comparison

What changes when a 3MF becomes an STL

STL only stores the shape of your model. Everything else a 3MF carries is left behind.

Kept in the STL

  • The geometry of every object
  • Real size, converted to millimeters
  • Where each object sits on the plate
  • Separate objects, if you split them

Left behind

  • Colors and painted filament regions
  • Print settings and slicer profiles
  • Plate layout, supports and seam painting
  • Thumbnails and project metadata
FAQ

3MF to STL questions

Answers about cost, privacy, Bambu projects, colors, objects and units.

Is this 3MF to STL converter free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no file limit and no watermark, because the conversion runs in your browser.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The 3MF is read and converted on your own computer, so the model never leaves your device.
Can I convert Bambu Studio project files?
Yes. The converter reads the model data inside Bambu Studio and OrcaSlicer projects and skips the print settings stored alongside it.
Why are my colors gone?
STL has no color information, so multi-color 3MF files come out as plain geometry. To keep the colors, print from the original 3MF.
What happens to files with several objects?
By default every object goes into one STL in its plate position. Pick One STL per object to get a separate file for each one in a ZIP.
Will the size be right in my slicer?
Yes. A 3MF can be saved in inches, centimeters or microns. The converter reads that unit and writes the STL in millimeters, which is what slicers expect.
