The FBX is read in your browser and never uploaded, so paid assets and unreleased characters stay on your device.
Open FBX files from Maya, 3ds Max, Blender or Mixamo with their materials, then check size and print readiness. Nothing uploaded.
Open a file to see its size, triangle count and whether it is watertight.
Opened in your browser. Files are never uploaded.
Pick the next tool for what you want to do with the model.
Open the file, look at it with its materials, then check it as a print.
Drop a .fbx file, binary or ASCII, version 7.0 or newer. Files from Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, Mixamo and most asset stores open without a plug-in or an account.
Orbit, zoom and switch on wireframe to see the topology. Original materials and embedded textures show first; turn them off for the plain print preview.
Read the size, triangle count and watertight result, then download an upright STL in millimeters when you are ready to slice.
See an FBX the way its artist made it, and the way a printer would.

Original materials and textures packed into the file show first. Turn them off to see the plain merged mesh a slicer receives.
Taken from the unit stored in the file, so centimeter, meter and inch scenes all show their true size. Characters usually arrive at life size.
Open and non-manifold edges. Game meshes are often left open at the neck, cuffs or eyelids, which a slicer has to patch before it can print.
Volume and a solid PLA weight estimate, so you can judge the cost before you scale or hollow the model.
See the topology of a game mesh and where it is dense enough to need decimating before a print.
FBX was built for animation pipelines, which explains most of its quirks.
Autodesk's format comes as compact binary or as readable ASCII text. The viewer reads both from version 7.0 on; older 6.x files need exporting again.
FBX counts in centimeters, and a UnitScaleFactor in the file says how big one unit really is. That is how meter and inch scenes keep their size.
One file can carry skeletons, skin weights and several animation takes alongside the meshes. The viewer reads the meshes and does not play animation.
Exporters either pack textures into the file or store a path to images on the artist's disk. Only packed textures can show in a browser.
FBX is the workhorse of games and animation. These are the people who open it most.
Check an asset for Unity or Unreal for scale, triangle count and textures before importing it.
Look over a rigged character from Mixamo or a Maya export without opening a full 3D suite.
Preview a model from an asset store or marketplace on any computer and see what the file contains.
Check a game character or creature as a print, with size, watertight result and filament, before converting it to STL.
